A hand, or two. A pen and paper.
Now try this…
Create a short rhythm (just a few seconds long) by clapping your hands or clicking your fingers.
Repeat it a few times to get comfortable with it.
What interesting phrase or question could you fit to this rhythm?
Try repeating it aloud, and then see if you can find a melody you like the sound of to sing it to.
From this phrase, try writing three more that also fit this rhythm and that follow on from the first in terms of meaning.
This can form your chorus and basis for the rest of your song.
